1889 Wisden Rebound Paperback

£750.00

This is an Excellent condition Rebound Wisden paperback from 1889. The 26th edition.

The boards on this rebound edition are excellent – they look like the boards used on original hardback Wisdens  with the year at the top, title to the middle and company address to the foot. The original front and rear wrappers are present  and they are in super condition, with just some very minor light ageing on both.

Internally the pages are in super condition. Naturally on some page there is the odd ageing, it is after all a 135-year-old edition.

The page block is good, a little dusty.

Contents Include:
A Few Jottings, by Robert Thomas
The Laws of Cricket.
Australia in England.
Umpires and Where to Find Them.
Deaths in 1888.
The Counties in 1888.
The Parsee Tour.
The Marylebone Club in 1888.
Shrewsbury’s Team to Australia.
Inter Colonial Matches.

“A man with a music-hall imagination” (John Arlott on Brian Johnston).
