1892 Wisden Paperback
This is a Lovely condition 1892 Paperback Wisden. The 29th edition.
It is becoming a theme when I am writing the descriptions for the early Wisdens to re-iterate how scarce they are becoming and I do not apologise for this. It is a simple fact that more collectors are coming into the market and the rarer editions are becoming more difficult to find, especially in Very Very Good or better condition – this edition is lovely!
The original front and rear wrappers are present, each has some minor ageing to the outside edges. The corners are slightly aged too – which again is absolutely normal and there are a couple of marks to the foot of the rear wrapper – none of these have impacted on this edition. The wrappers are splendid – considering this is a 131-year-old book, they are in super condition.
The spine is a stunning professionally-made facsimile – one of the most professional replicas I have seen.
Internally the inside front and inside rear covers are a little aged, but overall the contents are bright and clean, lovely condition would be a fair assessment. The photo-plate is present and it is super.
The page block is dusty, which is to be expected.
