1913 Wisden Paperback Rebound

£125.00

A Very Good+ condition 1913 Wisden Paperback edition that has been rebound. The JUBILEE Edition. The 50th almanack.

The 50th edition of the almanack contains the full details of The Triangular Tournament – a series of Test Matches in England between the home nation, Australia and South Africa.

This 1913 rebound has very strong boards. The boards are what are known as ‘Publisher’s Bindings.’ Primarily prior to World War 1, Wisden offered a service to paperback buyers to have their paperback housed in boards resembling those of a hardback. ‘Resembling’ is the correct word as the boards are light brown in colour and the wording is of a different font to that used on the hardback edition.

The original front and rear paperback wrappers are present within. Both are dark, but overall in very good condition. There is some slight loss to the inside left of the original front cover, at the foot.
Internally the pages and contents are in very good condition. The Photo-plate of John Wisden is in excellent condition, as is the facing tissue guard.

Contents Include:
John Wisden : Personal Recollections.

Umpires for 1913.
