1916 Wisden Rebound Paperback

£350.00

This is a Lovely condition  1916 Paperback Wisden edition that has been tastefully rebound. The 53rd edition of Wisden.

This is arguably the most sought after Wisden edition of all. It contains the obituary of WG Grace, along with his full career details. Also, sadly included are the obituaries and career information for Victor Trumper and AE Stoddart.

The binding has a Foyles of London feel to it and it is likely, according to the previous owner, that the binding was done probably in the 1940’s or early 1950’s.
The 1916 within the binding lacks its original front and rear wrappers, the advertisements to the front and rear  are present.

The boards, as can be seen on the photograph, are patterned. They are strong and solid, with minimum ageing. The front board is blank, the year and title are to the spine.

A Volume number is also on the spine, the original family member who had the set rebound had some years bound together, ie: 1864,65,66 and 67 – he had that named Volume 1. This edition is Vol. 27.

The pages within are also in super condition, with no noticeable ageing and the trim is very healthy.

The page block is also very very good.

Contents include:
The obituary and full career details of WG Grace- Plus a Tribute by Lord Harris.
