1929 Wisden Hardback

£160.00

This is a Decent condition 1930 Wisden Hardback edition. The 69th edition.

The front and rear boards are in good+ condition, some ageing and bumping to the corners, the spine is creased and it is  rough and worn at the edges. The gilt to the front and to the spine is very good. There is also a private stamp on the front board.

Internally the front and rear hinges are in good condition and the yellow paste down pages are bright and clean. The pages within are also in  good condition. There is some ink marking on the very top of a few internal pages

The page block is dusty.

If the spine was better on this edition it would be a strong 6/10.

Contents Include:
My Years at Cambridge by G. H. Longman.
Laws of Cricket.
Notes by the Editor.
Five Cricketers of The Year.
West Indies Team in England.
County Champions: Lancashire.
Sheffield Shield: Victoria.
MCC in South Africa.

“He liked slapstick, but he knew when and at whom to throw the pie. His short, square build, busy movements and low-geared run were made for comedy.”
(R.C. Robertson-Glasgow, on Patsy Hendren))
