£120.00 £96.00

Thank you for looking at this Good+ condition 1948 Wisden Hardback. The 85th edition.

The boards on this edition are in  good+ condition. They are strong and firm. The gilt to the front is bright and clear. The spine board is aged and a little creased. The spine gilt has faded. This edition comes with a Wisden approved dust jacket.

The inside front and inside rear facing pages in very good+ condition.

The pages within are in very good+ condition, bright and clean throughout.

The 1948 Wisden  was produced using two different types of paper. The first 70 pages and the final 180+ are superior quality paper, the central pages are of lesser quality. Again, post war shortages and the decision by Wisden to increase the pagination by 200+ pages in late 1947 meant that the only paper available was that of lesser quality – 90% of all Wisdens for 1948 were produced this way. The result – a two-tone look on the page block and the central block of pages all have brownish tops to the top and foot. There is  browning on this edition.

The page block is two-tone and it is dusty.

Contents Include:
Compton and Edrich – RC Robertson-Glasgow.
