This is a super Wisden paperback from 1883. The Twentieth Edition.

Complete with professionally-made facsimlie covers and spine, this is a quite splendid edition.

Internally this 1883 is delightful and finding editions from the 1880s is rare enough but finding one in such exceptional condition is rarer still. The internal pages are clean, bright and in super condition. There is minimal foxing to some internal pages and the page block is super. For a Wisden dating back to 1883 this edition it is in quite lovely condition. There is a very light signature to the top of first right-hand page.

A Lovely almanack.

Contents include:
Shaw’s team in America, Australia & New Zealand.
Umpires – Where to find them.
The Counties in 1882

“I don’t actually enjoy Test cricket that much.” (Chris Tavare after making 35 in five and a half hours in Madras, 1981/2))

Pre 1938 Wisdens are invariably found in need of restoration. I take the view that restoring these editions to as close to their original condition as possible, is in the best interests of the book and the future owner. All restoration, repairs or enhancement are mentioned. I only use professionals to undertake this work.
